Opportunity:As a member of Global Customer Support, supports
on-market products and performs (technical) second-level
troubleshooting and supports requests for internal and external
customers. Participates in and leads design reviews and provides
feedback to design team in supporting established service and
support requirements on development projects. Creates and updates
documentation and conducts training for internal
personnel.DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS:The Product Support
Specialist is second in the series of four jobs. The employee works
on assigned projects under general direction from senior members of
team. Key Responsibilities:
- Follows established Roche Quality system procedures in
execution of work.
- Provides on-market support by addressing technical product
support inquiries independently, with occasional guidance from
senior member of team. Applies knowledge of professional practices,
assay performance, and troubleshooting principles and
practices.
- Participates in, and may lead design review teams to provide
service and support perspective, reviews and approves design change
content, and assists in and/or creates the required
deliverables.
- Creates / revises curriculum for training sessions and delivers
training to small groups.
- Supports service requirements on development projects and
creates service and user documentation for internal/external
training prior to launch of new products and for on-market products
as needs arise.
- Utilizes project management fundamentals to ensure assigned
projects are completed properly, and on time.

- Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Microbiology,
Information Technology or related discipline or equivalent work
experience
- 2 years of progressive experience, with prior experience with
industry or diagnostics productsPreferred Qualifications:
- 1 years' experience in technical support (field or
customer-facing role incorporating experience with troubleshooting
and Training) or equivalent.
- Hands-on experience with NGS technologies, PCR-based
methodologies and/or Hybridization-based target enrichment.
- Project Management experience.
- Experience with secondary/tertiary analysis of NGS data,
interpretation of public annotation databases, tools (BLAST,
Bowtie, Clustal, etc.), and common algorithms for evaluating
sequencing data.
- Experience working with global cross functional teams.
- Strong communication, organizational, and logical thinking
skills, with the ability to simplify complex ideas for
non-technical users and effectively collaborate with internal
partners on escalating issues.
- Capable of working independently on moderate-scope tasks with
sound judgment, while mentoring others in alignment with Roche's
cultural beliefs and ensuring a positive end-to-end customer
experience across global teams.
- Information Security and Data Privacy fundamentalsLocation:
Primary location will be in Santa Clara, CA (and possibly some days
per week in Pleasanton)International and domestic travel may be
required (up to 25%).Relocation benefits are not available for this
job posting.The expected salary range for this position based on
the primary location of Santa Clara, CA is $78,500-$145,700. Actual
pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications,
geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by
law. This position is eligible to earn incentive compensation that
is calculated and paid in accordance with the applicable Incentive
Compensation Plan for the role. This position also qualifies for
