  We are looking for a Clinical Lab Scientist to join our growing Community Health Partners team! Community Health Partners - part of Community Health System - helps primary care physicians and specialists manage their practices. You will be responsible for the day-to-day oversight of the laboratory operation and personnel performing testing and reporting test results. As part of the team associated with the clinical lab, you will work closely with various clinical departments, including physicians and nursing staff, on testing and providing consultation on laboratory testing issues.   Responsibilities:
  In your role, you will:----
  • Perform and document instrument maintenance as required. Correctly identify when an instrument is not performing properly and perform basic troubleshooting of instrument problems in an acceptable manner.
  • Correctly identify abnormal and panic level test results and follow established protocols for reporting these results.
  • Actively evaluate workload and move out primary daily work assignment of other workstations as needed. Continuously evaluate workflow and correctly identify testing priorities. Work is well organized and can multi-task various testing functions within the assigned area. Assist co-workers in facilitating workflow within assigned areas and between all laboratory facilities.
  • Perform all laboratory patient testing, proficiency testing, and result reporting functions in an accurate and timely manner according to established laboratory and regulatory policies and procedures. Correctly identify deviations from acceptable test performance and document remedial actions taken to correct the situation.--
  • Be responsible for oversight and supervision of unlicensed personnel involved in processing of specimens, testing procedures and reporting test results.
  • Assist department manager in training lab assistants, lab technicians and Medical Technologists. Provide in-service to staff when requested.
    
    Qualifications:
    Education
    • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical, Physical or Biological Science or Medical Technology required--Licenses and Certifications
