Position Overview: As a Registered Nurse (Safety) at DSH, you'll play a critical role in providing high-quality care and ensuring the safety of both patients and the facility. Key Responsibilities: Direct Patient Care: Administer direct nursing care and treatment to patients, ensuring they receive the best possible care. Medical Assistance: Assist physicians as directed and take independent action within your professional and legal scope. Safety & Security: Maintain order, supervise patient conduct, and protect the safety of both persons and property within the facility. Training & Development: Play a key role in the training and development of other nursing personnel, contributing to a culture of continuous learning. Comprehensive Care: Assist in planning, evaluating, and directing nursing care and services, ensuring continuity of care across shifts. Custody Tasks: Perform custody tasks, including monitoring and intervening in patient behavior to maintain safety and security. Minimum Qualifications: Possession of the legal requirements to practice as a professional Registered Nurse in California. Knowledge and Abilities: Nursing Expertise: Knowledge of professional nursing principles, hospital routines, and custody procedures. Analytical Skills: Ability to apply nursing techniques, observe and record symptoms and behavior, and maintain detailed records. Special Requirements: Drug Screening: Successful completion of a drug screening is required prior to employment. Background Investigation: A background investigation must be cleared before hiring.
