Primary Responsibilities
The Park Aide is a part-time, at-will, entry level class
responsible for a wide variety of parks, landscape and grounds
maintenance, and cleaning tasks. Position may work early mornings,
evenings, daytime, and weekends to support the public's use of
recreational open space and facilities within the City. Park Aides
are typically part of a work crew and must be dependable and timely
in reporting to work.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience in landscape maintenance is preferred, but not
required.
Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Class C California
driver's license

Overview

recreation, aging services, and sports programming; assists with
outreach events in support of program participation; learns

Primary Responsibilities
The Program Leader I is a part-time, at-will, entry level class
responsible for a wide variety of programming activities, including
monitoring program participants, facilitating program
participation, site pre- and post-inspection walk-throughs, and
cleaning and basic site maintenance. Position may work early
mornings, evenings, daytime, and weekends to support the public's
use of City facilities. Program Leader I's must be dependable and
timely in reporting to work in support of scheduled programming.
The Program Leader I classification differs from the Program Leader
II classification in that the latter is a journey-level position
that provides specialized instruction or acts as site lead.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must demonstrate flexibility, willingness to complete
assigned responsibilities, ability to work collaboratively with
others, and excellent customer service skills through prior
volunteer experience, work experience, or references from a teacher
or other individual in a leadership role.

driver's license may be required depending on specific work
assignments.

First Aid training and certification.

Overview
Under general supervision, performs tasks and duties related to the
protection of public health, safety and welfare, and the

Primary Responsibilities
The Police Officer I is the entry level class and the Police
Officer II is the senior class in the Police Officer series. Both
are responsible for performance of the full scope of assigned law
enforcement duties and responsibilities, under general supervision.
The Police Officer I is distinguished from the Police Officer II in
that the Police Officer I is the entry-level description in the
professional Police Officer series. The Police Officer I serves a
twelve month probationary period and is expected to promote to the
senior level Police Officer II classification after successful
completion of probation.
Minimum Qualifications
A high school diploma, or equivalent
Prior experience in law enforcement or successful completion of
college coursework in criminology, police science, or a related
field is desirable but not required
Possession of a California POST Basic Certificate
Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Class C California

persons who meet the necessary criteria will be called for an oral
inter-view, which is weighted at 100%. Candidates who earn at least
70% on the interview will be recommended to the Civil Service
Commission for inclusion on the employment eligibility list.

successfully pass a polygraph examination, background investigation
and chief's interview before being offered a conditional
appointment. The offer is conditioned on successful completion of a
thorough psychological assessment and medical evaluation (including

The Assistant Engineer is the journey level class in the
professional engineering series. Incumbents are expected to perform

limited in scope and performed within an established procedural
framework. This classification is distinguished from the next
higher classification of Associate Civil Engineer in that the
latter requires registration as a Civil Engineer in the state of
California, performs more difficult and complex civil engineering
tasks.
Minimum Qualifications
Must possess the equivalent of three years of paraprofessional
Engineering experience or three or more years of college level
coursework in Civil Engineering
A valid certificate of registration as an Engineer-in-Training from
the State of California
