Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Perioperative - Pre & Post Surgery, PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit) Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour days with staggered start times from 6:00 AM to 10:30 AM; includes call shifts on one weekday and one weekend per month at minimum Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS Must-Have: Strong IV skills; familiarity with EMR Cerner-surginet Job Description: - Work in both inpatient and outpatient settings. - Manage patients with various diagnoses, including robotic and regular laparoscopic cholecystectomy, appendectomy, colon resection, hernias, hysterectomies, spine cases, total joint replacements (hips, knees, shoulders), and cardiac catheterizations. - Provide care with a 1:1 ratio for fresh post-operative patients and transition to a 1:2 ratio in the next phase; pre-operative care with a ratio of 1:5; post-recovery care with a ratio of 1:4 if holding. - Perform outpatient blood transfusions and infusions in the PACU. - Participate in one week of orientation, with duration varying based on experience. - No floating to endoscopy and outpatient surgery centers. - Wear provided scrub color. - Collaborate effectively with the charge nurse and work without nurse aides. - Responsible for managing call requirements, including one weekday and one weekend per month. - Weekend work required once a month. - Work under acute care settings without the presence of trauma levels. - Must be prepared for the hospital to cancel up to four shifts per 13-week assignment.
